My passion for animals began with my studies

in Animal Management & Husbandry, complemented by hands-on experience working on a farm. This foundation paved the way for my career in a large pet retail store, where I deepened my understanding of animal nutrition.

Seeking more direct experience with animals,

I transitioned to working at a boarding kennel that also housed rescue dogs. This role ignited my interest in canine behaviour, as I witnessed first hand the challenges faced by rescue dog's and their previous owners. I dedicated my time to supporting these dogs, ensuring they received the extra care and attention they needed.

My journey continued as a volunteer rescue dog walker,

and then at an award-winning doggy daycare. There, I learned how to manage and care for multiple dogs in a group setting. Attending IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) courses enriched my knowledge about dog body language, behaviours, reactivity, and more.

To further expand my skills,

I joined the Metropolitan Police as kennel staff, working with both pet and working dogs. This role offered unique insights into the distinct training and lifestyles of working dogs. I was involved in their breeding and training, witnessing their development and the importance of their roles.

Driven by desire to be more hands-on in training,

I became a security dog handler, working closely with a German Shepherd/Malinois. Together, we achieved our NASDU qualification, meeting high standards and growing as a team.

My commitment to continuous learning

as a dog trainer has been unwavering. After years of diverse experiences, I felt ready to start my own venture. At Campbell's Canines, we believe in the power of positive reinforcement to create happy and healthy dogs. Our mission is to improve the lives of both animals and their owners, focusing on their well-being and behavioural needs. Thankyou for being part of the journey!

Hey, i'm Sophie

Ever since i was young i have had a passion for animals, dogs in particular. At the age of 12 i started training in agility with my family labrador, which i quickly became very invested in. At the age of 14 i got my working cocker spaniel 'Ace'. We have since competed in Agility, Obedience and heel work to music. We have even earned a trick dog title! Last year i brought home 'Teasel' my Welsh springer spaniel. Teasel and i take part in showing and we are working through the Good citizens dog scheme. We have qualified for Crufts 2026! My working experiences include; Doggy daycare, Pet retail & Kennel staff. Through this i have gained a large amount of experience with many different breeds and behaviours.
